First Cooperation Meeting within the Research Project SoLaBay
On Wednesday, 22 October 2025, the first cooperation meeting within the research project SoLaBay took place at the Institute of the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture (LfL) in Munich. The project investigates the potential of Social Farming/Green Care in Bavarian agriculture, aims to establish cross-sectoral networks, and develops practice-oriented policy recommendations. The project is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism.
The working meeting was organized by the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences (HSWT) and the Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture (LfL), which are jointly conducting the research project. The event was attended by representatives of HSWT, LfL, and the cooperation partners, including the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband Bayern (Parity Welfare Association of Bavaria), the Bayerischer Bauernverband (Bavarian Farmers' Association), the Verein Soziale Landwirtschaft (Social Farming Association), the M6 Department “Diversification, Rural Women,” and the Institute for Agricultural Economics at LfL.
The meeting focused on presenting the current status of the project and coordinating future cooperation. It became clear that social farming/Green Care makes an important contribution both through its pioneering work and its high potential for agriculture, social work and the common good.
The meeting provided an opportunity to develop joint perspectives and plan concrete steps for further networking and implementation of the project. All participants emphasised the importance of stronger links between politics, practice and science in order to promote and further develop social farming in Bavaria in the long term.
